● Carol Christine Fair earned a B.S. in biological chemistry from the University of Chicago (UC) in 1991. She also holds a master's degree from UC's Harris School of Public Policy, and a Ph.D. from UC's Department of South Asian Languages and Civilizations.
● Prior to joining the faculty at Georgetown University, Fair served as a senior political scientist with the RAND Corporation, a political officer with the United Nations Assistance Mission to Afghanistan, and a senior research associate at the U.S. Institute of Peace's Center for Conflict Analysis and Prevention. She also has served as a Senior Fellow at West Point’s Combating Terrorism Center, and a Senior Resident Fellow at the Institute of Defense Studies and Analysis (in New Delhi).
● Fair is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Women in International Security, the International Studies Association, the American Political Science Association, and the American Institute of Pakistan Studies. She also serves on the editorial boards of a number of scholarly and policy-analytic journals.
